Jeffrey T. Prem, M.D. is on staff at Union Hospital, Mercy Medical Center and Aultman Hospital. He is board certified in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery.
An Ohio native, Dr. Prem graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Dayton. He received his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine. His internship and residency was completed in General Surgery at Wright State University School of Medicine. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Northshore-Long Island Jewish Health System in New York.
Dr. Prem has served as Chief of Surgery at Union Hospital and is currently Medical Staff Vice President. He is currently a clinical assistant professor of surgery and serves as Medical Director of the Vascular Lab at both Mercy Medical Center and Union Hospital.
Dr. Prem provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for diseases and disorders of the arteries and veins, with the exception of the heart. Traditionally, physicians engaged in the management of circulation problems have divided themselves between the heart (cardiovascular) and the remaining arteries and veins (peripheral vascular). As a peripheral vascular expert, he is committed to stroke prevention, management of aneurysms, limb revascularization and the preservation of quality of life. Dr. Prem believes in the principle of tailoring care to fit the needs of individual patients. Depending on patient age, preferences and associated medical problems, many approaches are usually available.
It is said that minimally-invasive techniques represent the treatment of the 21st century. Regional Vascular and Vein Institute is the region's leading practice offering minimally-invasive treatment.
